2020 has been an eventful year for Community Cooperative Preschool. From closing this past March when local schools went remote, to figuring out a COVID-safe but still warm and developmentally appropriate way forward this fall, our teachers and director have been absolute rock-star problem solvers. Though things look a bit different for the school year of 2020-2021, we are still trying to honor some of our favorite CCP traditions.

This December, with some important COVID-safety tweaks, the students were still able to participate in our annual Polar Express special event. They made reindeer food, played pretend in homemade ticket booth, listened to a special dramatized reading of The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg, and even met a special jolly visitor on their way out.
Our annual bird feeder making also looked a bit different this year. Since we were unable to take field trips to the houses of students to hang our feeders, the preschool students brought their feeders home and the PreK students decorated the playground with their finished feeders. Students still learned about how different animals survive through the cold winter months and have become avid animal watchers as some of our local fauna change with the arrival of winter visitors and snow.
