Our Teachers

Our teachers are one of the best assets at CCP. They are all moms of children with varying age ranges, and are very eager to listen and help, should a parent have a question. We are also lucky to have a past CCP mom now in the role as a teacher, allowing her to look at things from both perspectives. In addition, their wide variety of interests and hobbies, allow them to create a wonderfully diverse curriculum. Our children are very dear to our hearts, and it’s only right that we feel we have the very best teaching them.

Karen Walsh, Director

Mrs. Walsh has been a teacher at CCP since 1997 and Director since 2001. She came to the school after many years of preschool and day care experience throughout high school and college. Following college she worked in the Lexington Public Schools Special Education Department. With a BS in early Childhood Development and minors in Literature, Art, and French, Mrs. Walsh brings enthusiasm, excitement, patience and a sence of calm to the classroom. She is a true believer in the benefits of a cooperative setting. The mother of four children, all CCP graduates, Ryan (12) Grace (9), Molly (9), and Brennan (8), Mrs. Walsh claims that CCP is her “retreat” from her busy everyday life!

LouAnn Donovan, Assistant Director

Miss LouAnn joined the staff at CCP in 2001 as lead teacher and went on to immediately achieve a Director qualification from the Office of Child Care Services. In addition, she holds an Associate’s degree with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. LouAnn has held various jobs within the North Andover school system, including clerical positions, and noontime and lunchroom assistant, which has allowed her the opportunity to share her expertise in the field. She earned a glowing recommendation from longtime Brad Street School principal Kathy Callagy. Prior to coming to CCP she worked for KinderCare. Local families may recognize LouAnn, as she has resided in North Andover’s Old Town Center for 30 years. Her son Theron is a graduate of UMass Lowell and Northeastern University Nursing College, and her daughter Christine is a graduate of UMASS Amherst’s Commonwealth College. She spends a lot of her free time hiking on Weir Hill with her two dogs, Darby and Keeley.

Linda Swartz, Teacher

Miss Linda has been a teacher at Community Cooperative Preschool since 2009. She holds a BA degree in Economics and French from the University of Vermont. In addition, she earned her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass. She is also certified as a Lead Teacher for Preschool. Previously, she taught second grade at a small private school in Boston and Pre-K at a preschool and day care center in Arlington. Linda and her family have been part of Community Cooperative Preschool for several years as her 3 children attended the school. While her children attended, she was a board member and she served on nominating and hiring committees for the school. Linda, and her husband Paul, have lived in North Andover for 22 years with their 3 children: Grant (20), Dana (17) and Lexi (14).

Jeanne Zilliox, Teacher

Miss Jeanne is thrilled to join the CCP teaching staff this year after being part of the CCP community as a parent since 2011. All three of her children Luke (9), Sam (7) and Clara (4) are all past or present students of the school. Jeanne has a strong background in education. She was the Director of the Doctoral Program in Social Work at Boston College for ten years prior to becoming a mother. Jeanne holds a bachelor’s degree in English, a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education and is a certified teacher in Massachusetts. In the past few years she has returned to one of her passions, musical theater, and she is excited to bring her love of singing and performing to her students at CCP!
